Most Frequently Asked Questions about Jet Washing
How much does it cost to jet wash my driveway or patio
The cost for jet wash cleaning of your drive way or patio is dependant on a few factors
-
The type of matrial, is it : Block paving, Indian stone, Resin Bound, Tarmac, Wooden Decking Paving slabs
-
The size: generally we have a set price per sq meter but on large areas we do apply economies of scale
-
Condition: Price of jet wash cleaning will vary according to the condition, weeds algae moss, general filth and age all have an impact, The poorer the condition generally the more is the cost.
-
Drainage; Some driveways have been poorly laid or laid without insufficient drainage, we use high volume, high pressure water jet washers so poor drainage can lead to us having to remove large volumes of water if the drainage is poor
-
Water pressure or no water will mean we have to bring our 2000 ltr water bowser which adds to the price
-
Check our pricing page Typically Jet washing your driveway by Jetwash cleaning.co .uk will cost between £3.50 to £8.00 per square meter with a minimum charge of £170 . As a rule we do a pre site survey and give you a free no obliation quotation. We do not charge any fee until the job is complete and you are satisfied.
Do you resand block paving
Yes, unless other wise requested, our cleaning service and price for jet wash cleaning block paving driveways and patios does include resanding. We do not resand in poor weather conditions or on wet surfaces as this leaves an awful mess.
What is jet washing?
Jet washing, or pressure washing, is the application of a high-pressure water spray to surfaces that need to be cleaned.
-
It is used on concrete to remove mould, chewing gum, and dirt stains.
-
It is used on wooden decks to return the wood’s vibrant colour.
-
It is used on houses to remove pollution, mildew, and other problematic signs of aging.
How often do most surfaces need jet washed?
For the majority of surfaces, an annual jet washing should suffice. It does depend on the materials used to create/build the surface as well as the current condition of the surface, so you may need to increase the frequency of jet washings.
Can I do the jet washing on my own?
While jet washing can be viewed as a do-it-yourself project, there is a clear distinction between a DIY job and professional services. This means you get greater capability of equipment and greater expertise by having trained jetwashing technicians do it for you. The end results are significantly better and the time taken significantly shorter
A do-it-yourself washer may set the pressure too high for the surface or hold the nozzle too close to it. This can result in chipped stone, damaged decking, and ruined walls. Most jet washing equipment you can buy from DIY outlets have a much lower PSI than commercial-grade tools we use at Jet Wash Cleaning .co.uk and they hold a minimal amount of water -making projects take days, not hours. With poor results
What are PSI and GPM?
PSI is the pounds per square inch. This is what delivers the punch during a power wash, forcing contaminants off the surface. LPM is the litres per minute. This flushes the contaminants pushed off by the PSI.
Both are very important. Some people do, however, prefer more PSI or more LPM depending on their needs. A farmer may want more LPM to flush contaminants away from the fresh soil; a business owner may want more PSI to get the grime off the exterior surface of his or her shop frontage. We have equipment capable of delivering up to 25 LPM and 225 PSI both of which are controllable dependant on the surfaces needed to be pressure washed.
Will a high pressure wash damage my home?
Not with the professional technicians at Jet Wash Cleaning. We know how to properly utilise high-pressure washing equipment that has the capability to produce an extremely high pressure output. By examining the type of surface and its condition, our team can set the right amount of water pressure to be used.
